Helping those with a variety of medical conditions discover a better quality of life through fitness

I have been an active athlete for over 15 years cycling through a variety of sports including basketball, track, football, and CrossFit. Football was my main passion for 8 years and I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play 2 years in college. I ended up leaving football due to a medical condition. Shortly after, I was introduced to CrossFit by one of my friends. CrossFit not only provided a healthy environment for me to progressively regain my strength, but also helped me change my entire lifestyle, so I could better manage my health. This is where my true passion for fitness started. At the time, I was studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science where I was able to apply the methods/practices I was learning in the classroom to my own life. I was later presented with the opportunity to manage an exercise physiology laboratory, while pursuing a Master of Science degree in exercise science. In this program, I placed special emphasis on studying different aspects of clinical exercise physiology, so I could help those with a variety of medical conditions discover a better quality of life through fitness.

I have been a CrossFit athlete since late 2011, pursued the CrossFit Level 1 (CFL1) in 2013, and have been coaching CrossFit ever since. I am currently a Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) through the American College of Sport Medicine (ACSM) and hold the Exercise is Medicine Level 2 (EIM2) credential.
